2026 Lincoln Literacy's Global Celebration

In 2025, Lincoln Literacy's strong growth continued as the organization served over 3,000 adult learners from over 100 different countries. As of July 2026, we have already surpassed 2,000 learners. This milestone was made possible by generous donors and our dedicated team of nearly 200 volunteer tutors and staff members.

We are so excited for the future and what this means for Lincoln Literacy. We now offer over 120 classes six days a week and teach at 11 businesses and other community locations like schools and churches where our students live.

Lincoln Literacy’s Global Celebration on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, will feature a plated Thai-inspired dinner along with a cash bar and table service provided by The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. We will have the return of the very popular Kokyo Taiko Japanese drum group! The evening will celebrate student achievements and volunteer tutor dedication. Speakers will include a keynote by Thuzar Kyaw, a former student and now healthcare professional, as well as Minh, who will read a poem.

We will have time to meet and visit from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. The program starts at 6:00 pm and will conclude at 8:00 pm.
